Recent “Breaking” alum Mei Semones has announced a new EP entitled Kurage, set to be released on April 10 via Bayonet Records. Lead single “Koneko” features Liana Flores and is a tribute to the duo’s friendship, featuring lyrics in English, Portuguese, and Japanese (“koneko” is Japanese for “kitten”). The track was recorded at the Strongroom Studio in London, the city in which Semones and Flores first connected.

“I wrote this song about my first time in London in April of 2025,” Semones recalled in a press release. “I was staying with Liana, and the imagery in the lyrics is inspired by our time together: we walked along the canal, drank tea, ate strawberries and cookies, played with her cat, and went to the park to look at the birds. I hope that the song will make people smile and remind them of the pureness of a good friend.”
