Deb Never has announced that her debut LP, Arcade, will arrive on May 8 via Giant Music. To celebrate the news, the Washington-born songwriter has unveiled the title track shortly after debuting an actual video game that teased its release. The song is a lilting alt-pop cut in which Deb describes feeling something for the very first time in her life. For once in her life. Lots of qualifiers here, people. One thing I won’t qualify? The song is damn good!
Regarding the process of making the LP, Deb explained: “There’s always so much going on, there’s always people around me, I’m always surrounded. But I always felt this singularity and this isolation and in my music is the only time where I can really express that.”
The video for “Arcade“ was directed by Iris Kim and features cameos from Romil Hemnani, Q, supermodel*, and Ashlan Grey. Check it out below, and pre-order the LP here.
