R&B trio The Womack Sisters, which consists of BG, Zeimani, and Kucha Womack, have announced a label deal with Daptone Records. To celebrate the news they’ve shared a new single, “You Went Away Too Long.” The throwback soul cut features powerful vocals from the sisters, alongside keyboard accents and the occasional triumphant horn flourish. It’s a song that would have made their late uncle, the legendary Bobby Womack, proud.
Regarding the song, the trio explained: “This song holds a deep meaning that’s different for each of us. Imagine precious time stolen from your life, slipping away like sand through an hourglass, as your loved ones slowly forget the sound of your laughter. ‘You Went Away Too Long’ is a song about love and life interrupted.”
