Riding their wave of hype from Ireland to the US, Dublin’s hardly classifiable Bricknasty collective recently made their first-ever trek through the States with a string of dates leading up to an appearance at SXSW. We don’t know how they spent their time in NYC or Chicago, but based on the camera roll they passed along to us from their time in Austin, they made the most of their visit to Texas: footage of band members at a gun range and posing in front of a particularly kitschy dairy-aisle display (not to mention a cameo from Austin’s Waterloo sparkling water, in collaboration with Guy Fieri) land alongside portraits, live photos, and the messy aftermath of an Airbnb stay.
The trip took place in the wake of the group’s Blacks Law EP, a deconstructionist take on soul and R&B released back in October. Check out that nine-song release here, and scroll through their photos from SXSW below.
