After kicking off the year with a series of shows across Asia and Europe, Wednesday are now bringing their live show in support of last September’s Bleeds to North America. The set of dates began mid-March, and the band will be on the road until a series of hometown shows at the beginning of May—which will soon enough give way to the leg of their tour that ships them off to Australia and New Zealand.
But before their continued globe trotting—as well as a series of shows opening for Bleachers and Tyler Childers later this year and a number of prominent festival spots—the slacker-country rockers hit Minneapolis’ First Avenue last week with a lengthy setlist largely focused on their recent LP. A cover of Wayne Carson and Gary Stewart’s “She’s Actin' Single (I’m Drinking Doubles)” made an appearance midway through the set, though, and the noise-rock epic “Bull Believer” from 2023’s Rat Saw God gave way to the outro of “Wasp.”
