Shortly after closing out FLOOD FM’s 2025 “Hacked” calendar, LA-based alt-pop songwriter BEL announced that she’d be hitting the road to support her recently released debut album Holy Grail for an extensive set of spring US dates alongside The Happy Fits. The run of shows kicked off just over a month ago in Virginia, and will continue through the rest of the month before the Fits’ “Lovesick Tour” closes out back east in New Haven on May 3.
Last week marked the tour’s lone stop in the Lone Star State with an April 10 show at San Antonio’s Aztec Theater. Yet it wasn’t BEL’s only order of business in Texas—leading up to the show, she swung by Gold Rush Vinyl in Austin to sign a new pressing of LPs after the initial set of vinyl for Holy Grail sold out on tour (naturally a stop at one of the state capital’s famous breakfast taco spots ensued). Woke up in Austin and went early in the morning to my vinyl company’s office to sign 500 inserts for my next printing of Holy Grail vinyls! I sold out of vinyl already on this tour and I rush-ordered more so that people can have a signed one sent to their homes. Took me about an hour and 15 minutes, if you were wondering. Then the sweet people of Gold Rush Vinyl gave me a little tour of the facilities!
Post-vinyl signing, I stopped at my favorite rotisserie spot in Austin: Lou’s Eastside! It was just as delicious as I remember. Yummm.
