East LA duo Clarion made a bit of a splash back in 2024 with the release of their self-titled debut EP, particularly with the project’s centerpiece and breakout single “Hello Juliet.” The pummeling, breakneck shoegaze sound heard on the track felt like a proper introduction to the band, as they’ve continued to treat us to their punkier take on the My Bloody Valentine worship that’s blown up with the help of projects like Wisp and julie.

Coming off the release of their second EP, Blue Fairy, the band recently wrapped up a series of North American dates that included a rowdy sold-out gig at Somerville, Massachusetts’ Warehouse XI venue. Located just outside of Boston, the evening proved to band members Saya Oliva and Anthony Sanchez how popular their tight discography is far beyond the West Coast. “We turned on the lights, hardcore show style,” they share of their set. “This was something we’ve been wanting to do for a while. It ended up perfectly executed.”

Naturally, it was their hit “Hello Juliet” that they opted to film for “FLOOD Sessions,” with videographer Sonny Pierre capturing the incredible energy in the brightly lit room on digicam. “‘Hello Juliet’ has taken on a life of its own,” the band explains. “Being a song of grief and missed chances, it’s now correlated with so many other topics that it makes us incredibly happy to see what meaning people are finding in our music!”
