The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix. All great trilogies have to come to an end at some point and, unfortunately, that bittersweet time has come for Wilder Maker‘s Everyday Crimes Against Objects of Desire EP trilogy. After almost a full year, the New York project’s mastermind Gabriel Birnbaum has already released two thoughtful Everyday Crimes EPs (both of which received critical acclaim), and is now preparing to unveil the musical journey’s final chapter later this month.

“EZ River” is the first taste of Vol III., and we’re thrilled to premiere it. The nearly seven-and-a-half minute track features strong foundation of warm organ and saxophone lines that are reminiscent of some of Van Morrison’s more meandering and experimental ballads. Birnbaum’s voice melts into the soundscape as it mingles with the intriguing glitchy harmonies courtesy of Katie Von Schleicher. By the time “EZ River” ends, you’re already so submerged within Wilder Maker’s laid-back world, that your troubles just seem to float away. An impressive feat for a few minutes of music.

Everyday Crimes Against Objects of Desire, Vol III. is out on September 25 via Bleaksploitation Records. Preorder it here.
