Nearly 70 years into its existence, the Newport Folk Festival is still going strong, grabbing headlines over the weekend with the various stage-crashing collaborations and rousing headline sets from icons of folk and beyond. Yet it was a very different side of the festival that photographer Eleanor Petry captured for FLOOD during her time in Rhode Island, where she snapped backstage portraits of the event’s performers in between all the excitement.
