Following the recent release of her Juneteenth single “Power,” Danielle Ponder has announced that her sophomore LP, Everything Has Changed, will arrive on October 9 via Dead Oceans in partnership with Phoebe Bridgers. To celebrate the news of her debut for the label, Ponder has shared the project’s second single, “Sun and Moon,” which was produced by Mike Elizondo and Barney Lister.
Regarding the new single, Ponder explained: “I love that this song is upbeat but the lyrics are quite sad. The sun and moon provide a beautiful symbol of two lovers who spend a life chasing each other but never quite coming together. The drums and tempo of the song remind me of the push and pull chase that I’ve been in more than I’d like to admit. It’s not until the end where the drums stop that she realizes how exhausted she is with the game and longs for something deeper.”
