Minneapolis’ she’s green may be responsible for a quickly growing catalog of wispy dream-pop songs that float by like a cloud, but the outfit’s five members are very much earthbound. Their third and latest album Swallowtail is yet another statement of ethereality from the band, while their recent sets opening for Turnover and Chapterhouse in celebration of the release surely introduced new crowds to the physicality of their live show.
Between touring and writing the next she’s green album, Zofia Smith, Liam Armstrong, Teddy Nordvold, Kevin Seebeck, and Raines Lucas keep busy in the Twin Cities with trips to local ramen spots and breweries (one of which collaborated with the band on an appropriately Mountain Dew–colored beer). True to their name, they also seem to get outside plenty between kayaking journeys and trips to local farms, parks, conservatories, and nurseries.
In the wake of some of their biggest shows to date—and on the verge of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival once again letting down its drawbridge—check out the band’s collective idea of a perfect day in Minneapolis and St. Paul below. You can also stream or purchase Swallowtail here.

We’d start the day off with Tact Coffee in St. Paul and have a single-origin espresso.
We’d take a walk through Crosby Farms or Theodore Wirth Regional Park. We’ve done lots of photoshoots here!
We’d go wander the botanical gardens at the Como Conservatory. This is especially nice during the cold winters.
We’d go kayaking on the Kinnickinnic River, or at Cedar Lake.
We’d hit one of our favorite ramen spots: Ramen Kazama (this is the old location).
In the fall (August 22 – October 4) we’d go to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
We also love the Highland Nursery—we’d go there to get a few little figurines, some house decor, or plants.
And this is an absolute must: Himalayan Restaurant in Minneapolis. Not pictured is the naan—it’s to die for!
Utepils Brewery! We had one of our release shows here, and another at Electric Fetus. We come here a lot to grab a beer and enjoy the river right next to the seating outside. This is us holding our very own she’s green beer.
We love ending the night with a local show. This is us when we played a show by the Mississippi river with friends. Thanks for letting us show you around!
