Chicago-based Swiss army knife Sen Morimoto has announced a new solo LP, Time Is on Your Side, set to arrive on October 23 via the artist’s own Sooper Records. First single “Overthinker” is a laid back, jammy, folk-rock leaning tune built around Morimoto’s relaxed vocal delivery and a delightfully chill chorus.
Regarding the themes that permeate the new LP, Morimoto explained: “I’m not fighting time anymore. I treat it as an ingredient. Some of these songs only need a pinch—a couple of improvised takes. Others sat for years, like wine in a barrel, until they became equal parts of my past and future. My hope is that it could inspire the freedom to slow down.”
