Madlib, M.E.D., and Blu have teamed up for a collaborative album called Bad Neighbor, and if the incredibly funky first single “Knock Knock” featuring the legendary MF DOOM is any indication, it’s going to be quite a treat.
M.E.D. spoke to Rolling Stone about MF DOOM’s verse:
Doom’s concept was that it’s a text message. He text messages me while I’m not home, so he comes to my house anyway and starts borrowing all kinds of shit, you know, villain-style. I was, like, ‘what the fuck is that?’ So there’s this whole verse about him going to my house, drinking my beers, going through my DVDs. It’s so hilarious and genius.
In addition to DOOM, the new album will feature collaborations with Dâm-Funk, Hodgy Beats, Aloe Blacc, and Mayer Hawthorne, among others. See the full tracklist and spooky artwork below, along with an animated commercial for the album.
