Earlier this month, Nashville-based songwriter Amelia Day set out on a North American tour that will keep her busy through the end of 2026, with her current run of headlining shows giving way to opening slots for The Wood Brothers and Willi Carlisle in November and December, respectively. These shows will see the folk-rocker demonstrating just how well the seven songs on her newly released Ego Trip EP translate to a live setting—not to mention sharing her gratitude for being whisked along on tour with a set of such influential figures on her career. “I feel incredibly lucky to be sharing the stage with musicians I admire this much,” she shared, “and I think we’re going to put on some really powerful shows together!”
Before those headlining dates kicked off a few weeks ago, Day performed a two-song “Neighborhoods” set in her Tennessee hometown with her three-piece backing band. Set up in front of a U-Haul trailer, as if eager to get out on the road as soon as they wrap up, the band plays through the EP’s second track, “Lady Los Angeles,” before revisiting her 2023 single “Skippin’ Down the Sidewalk,” introducing her band midway through. “I filmed our session right outside my home inside a metal carport that my landlord stores all kinds of abandoned tools and broken appliances in,” Day shares, clarifying her setting. “I loved how the vaguely unsettling, industrial aesthetic looked for this video shoot, and it was nice to make use of what I often view as a mess as a background for art!”
