Riot Fest 2026 turned Chicago’s Douglass Park into a muddy, rain-soaked celebration of punk, rap, rock, metal, and everything in between. Despite three days of rain leading to shortened sets and an early ending, festival organizers worked tirelessly to ensure the event went on—rain or shine. While the weather proved too much for some, the most diehard attendees were happy to keep the party going.

Musically, the weekend delivered an all-time eclectic lineup of acts for all ages. Iggy Pop tore through an all-hits set, which the entire crowd sang along to. Decked out in merch from every era, Tool fans swarmed the fields as Maynard James Keenan mirrored his audience’s dedication, revealing that he’d undergone a full hip replacement earlier in the year but would never dream of missing the chance to perform at Riot Fest. Show Me the Body turned their set into a crowd-surfing frenzy, while Joey Valence & Brae delivered a lively performance and kept the audience “feeling sexy.”

Angine de Poitrine was the talk of the festival, with their mysterious act drawing a crowd larger than any headliner. All gathered wondered who they were and what they were saying, as they carried out an entire conversation onstage in a secret language. Glixen, Soul Glo, Foxy Shazam, and Chat Pile added even more variety to the weekend’s mix. Patti Smith made her mark during heavy rain, and Morrissey (who actually showed up) thanked his loving crowd, expressing joy to be alive and to be sharing this special moment in the mud, rain, and lightning. GWAR and Insane Clown Posse returned with their familiar antics, blood, and Faygo to close the three-day marathon of music mayhem.

In the end, Douglass Park was a mess of mud, waterlogged boots, and running eyeliner. Another year of artists and fans giving their all to celebrate music. — @moneyshot4all
