June McDoom has shared the final single to be previewed from her debut LP Follow the Light, arriving this Friday via Jagjaguwar. The homespun “Human Angel” begins with an acoustic guitar melody and a field-recording snippet of gusting wind before June’s voice floats above the instrumental like a meandering cloud, giving the track an ethereal, otherworldly feel. The drums and synth accents add an element of dub, while the harp runs double down on the melodic wizardry present throughout. Lots of stuff happening here. Very cool, indeed.
