Formerly known as Austin Psych Fest, Levitation has been responsible for some of the most jaw-dropping lineups and appearances in recent memory, including the reunion of The 13th Floor Elevators last year, and rare appearances from legends like Silver Apples and Os Mutantes.
This year promises to sit finely in the festival’s lore, with a headlining fiftieth anniversary performance of The Beach Boy’s Pet Sounds from Brian Wilson (and featuring support from Al Jardine) already serving as enough reason to buy a pass. Also announced today were Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Lee “Scratch” Perry, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Ty Segall, Sleep, Black Mountain, and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. As it has the last few years, the trip will go down at Carson Creek Ranch, this time from April 29 through May 1.
The full lineup will be announced this winter, but festival and camping passes are already on sale here.
