It’s possible that no single person has had a greater impact on the way that we understand the notion of privacy in the United States and frame our discussions around it than Edward Snowden. The NSA whistleblower who has been exiled in Russia for over two years (and who recently reiterated his willingness to go to jail in the US) will be making an appearance via live feed at this weekend’s Politicon event in LA. Snowden will be interviewed by The Yes Men, the political comedy team whose corporate-criminal persona exposes institutionalized corruption—something about which Snowden might have a couple of thoughts.
He joins an already impressive lineup of comedians, politicians, and commentators converging on the Los Angeles Convention Center today and tomorrow. Other participants include The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah and Jordan Klepper, James Carville, Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, David Axelrod, VEEP‘s Tony Hale, Paul Begala, Upright Citizen’s Brigade, representatives from Politico and VICE News, and more.
We’re thrilled to be presenting Politicon, which kicks off today at 2:30 p.m. with a conversation between Politico Chief White House Correspondent Mike Allen, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, and California Playbook author Carla Marinucci.
You and a friend can attend Politicon for free by RSVPing here.
