Questlove is Writing a Book about Chefs and Creativity

Set for an April 12 release via Clarkson Potter.

Drummer, producer, DJ, and famed food geek Questlove is penning a book about chefs and modern cuisine called somethingtofoodabout: Exploring Creativity with America’s Most Innovative Chefs. The musician and Roots frontman went #1 on the New York Times bestsellers list with his last book, the 2013 memoir Mo’ Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove.

Questo is teaming up once again with Mo’ Meta cowriter Ben Greenman for the new book, which will feature photos by Kyoko Hamada and a foreword by Anthony Bourdain. According to a press release, somethingtofoodabout is “not a traditional food book—it unlocks the creative process behind food and explores the way that chefs operate as innovative artists.”

The release continues, “somethingtofoodabout takes readers around the country: not only to New York City, where Questlove is currently based, but to places like Philadelphia (the city of his birth and an up-and-coming center of innovative restaurants). Questlove also goes west to Los Angeles, north to Portland, and south to New Orleans, letting chefs speak about their personal histories, their creative process, and their insights into innovation in food.”

The book is set for an April 12 release via Clarkson Potter.
