Just as Star Wars fever begins to reach critical mass merely months before The Force Awakens premieres, Star Trek has reminded us of its existence this morning by announcing its return to the small screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Star Trek series will premiere on CBS in January 2017—just after the original show’s golden anniversary—and will be then be available in full on the network’s streaming service CBS All Access. THR also reports that the new series will “introduce new characters.” Alex Kurtzman, who produced the two most recent Star Trek films, is attached to produce the new series, which is reportedly looking for a writer.

The franchise recently experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to reboot films directed by J. J. Abrams, who is now at the helm of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The original series spawned a slew of a follow-up shows, several feature films, and an animated series. And with the news of another reboot, it seems Star Trek will continue to live long and prosper.
