Matt Mondanile may make extremely laid back music as the guitarist for Real Estate and under his solo moniker Ducktails, but he is certainly not laid back in terms of his output. Still touring behind his most recent Ducktails release, St. Catherine, Mondanile has somehow found the time to put together an “almost finished” new album, according to Pitchfork.
Simultaneous with that reveal, Mondanile released a new track yesterday, the video for which was supposedly recorded earlier that day in Switzerland following a show the previous evening in St. Gallen. Technology!
Musically, “Don’t Want To Let You Know” is a departure from St. Catherine, and features a surprisingly prominent bassline along with some touches of vaporwave. We anxiously await the remix, Matt.
