Hudson Mohawke “Indian Steps” video

Scottish DJ Hudson Mohawke released his sophomore record Lantern this summer. Now, album standout “Indian Steps,” which features a characteristically delicate vocal line from Antony Hegarty, has its own, equally delicate video.

The clip comes courtesy of director Daniel Sannwald, whose camera traces gentle lines around an embracing elderly couple as they’re slowly tied in gold thread. Sannwald reportedly took inspiration from the Auguste Rodin sculpture The Kiss. “For the video, I recreate that sculpture with two elderly bodies,” Sannwald said in a statement. “It was very touching and moving to see two ageing bodies in such an intimate way. I wanted to use them as a symbol of time but also to capture the beauty of such vulnerability.”

Brace yourself, then check it out below.

Lantern is out now on Warp.
