Leave it to musical comedy genius Reggie Watts to take something as rote as a festival lineup announcement and make it hilarious. Admittedly, the group of artists and events on the bill for Moogfest 2016 is plenty to be excited for, but, like a good hot sauce, Watts just makes it that much better.
Moogfest, which bills itself as “the synthesis of art, music, and technology,” is a hybrid music festival and tech conference that features performances, film screenings, installations, speakers, and more. Or as Watts summarizes, “You know what I think of when I think of Moogfest? Hey, what about that switch? What does it do? FLICK IT!” The switch-flicking will take place in Durham, North Carolina on May 19-22, 2016.
This year’s fest will feature Watts himself, Gary Numan, GZA, ODESZA, Oneohtrix Point Never, Julia Holter, Dawn of Midi, Empress Of, former Battles frontman Tyondai Braxton, the podcast Song Exploder, and plenty of others.
