Terrace Martin was one of the producers involved with our favorite album of the year, Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp a Butterfly. Martin has shared a remix of the TPAB centerpiece (and one of our favorite songs of the year), “Alright.”
His version, called “Alright (11)” gives the track a jazzy, laid-back makeover, with Coltrane-flavored saxophone and watery keys. Here’s what Martin told The Fader about his take:
This song speaks for the world. It’s pure love being poured out from a place of hope and faith. I wanted to do this remix as my part to continue to push the message of love and to celebrate change! My only goal with all my music is to help and spread good vibes. I’m just happy we are helping to push a positive energy around the world.
