We haven’t heard from P. J. Harvey since 2011, when the British songwriter released Let England Shake, one of the brightest spots in a very bright catalog. Today, she dropped a thirty-second teaser for a new, as-yet-untitled record to be released in spring 2016.
In the brief clip, which was directed by Seamus Heaney, Harvey explores a few ruins and lays down a very heavy guitar line that bodes well for this new project. (Harvey and Heaney recently created a book of poetry and photographs entitled The Hollow of the Hand together.) That moment in the teaser notwithstanding, Harvey apparently recorded the album in public spaces around the world with John Parish and Flood, two frequent collaborators.
