In anticipation of this week’s release of The Best Day, Thurston Moore’s first solo release since the dissolution of Sonic Youth (not to mention his divorce from Kim Gordon), the living legend has shared an ambitious eight-minute music video for the cut “Speak To The Wild.”
Directed by Santiago Mostyn, the video is a strangely captivating (and nerve-wracking) trip to the woods that would pair nicely with Dancer in the Dark, or perhaps The Blair Witch Project, depending on which you find creepier.
Thurston and his new solo band (featuring Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley and My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe) are on tour as well. Take a look at those dates and watch the video for “Speak To The Wild” below.
