In co-writing 2014’s Gravity, Jonás Cuarón helped his father, Alfonso Cuarón, on his way to winning two Oscars—one for directing, and one for editing. Now Alfonso is returning the favor, and is credited as a producer on Jonás’s first major directorial project, Desierto.

Starring Gael García Bernal (The Science of Sleep, Y Tu Mamá También) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, Taking Woodstock), Desierto is a thriller that follows a group of border crossers who are attacked by a racist vigilante. The film, which won the International Federation of Film Critics prize at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September, seems kind of like a cross between The Hills Have Eyes and No Country for Old Men, based on the trailer—available to watch below.

Desierto is out March 4.
