Wyatt Cenac in “People of Earth”

Now that his feud with Jon Stewart has been (kinda) settled, former Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac is free to report the fake news for other fake-news programs. First up: People of Earth, a ten-episode series that finds him playing a reporter sent to a small town to report on a string of alien abductions.

As you can imagine, Cenac’s character is initially skeptical—”resigned to skepticism” might be a better way of saying it, judging by his face—of the townspeople’s accounts. But when Ana Gasteyer suggests that he, too, may have been abducted, things get a little weird.

While there’s no airdate yet, the show is slated to debut some time in 2016. You can watch the trailer below.
