@KimKardashian is now officially your best source for breaking Kanye West news. Last week, the rapper dropped “FACTS” on New Year’s Eve, a few hours after Kim tweeted a warning shot.
??? YEEZY YEEZY YEEZY NEW SONG ABOUT TO DROP #FACTS ???
— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) December 31, 2015
Then, late last night, she tweeted this:
??? Friiiiiiday!!!! New music!!!! #EveryFriday #Swish #RealFriends ??? ???
— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) January 8, 2016
Which naturally led to speculation that Kanye would be dropping new tunes every Friday, much as he did in the 2010 lead-up to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. True to form, a pair of new songs popped up in a single file on Kanye’s Soundcloud: “Real Friends” and a snippet of “No More Parties in LA.” The former track features Ty Dolla $ign and production from Boi 1-Da and Frank Dukes, while the latter is a ridiculous combo of Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, and Madlib.
Or so we were told. Within twenty minutes of his having posted them, Kanye pulled the file. “There was a slight distortion in the main loop within Real Friends,” he tweeted. “It will be back up shortly. When it’s back up all rippers please rip the new one instead.” Man of his word that he is, Kanye just re-upped “Real Friends” and the “No More Parties in LA” snippet. You can hear it here.
As for whether either track will appear on Swish, that’s still anyone’s guess.
