Aidy Bryant is the best cast member on Saturday Night Live right now (honorable mention shoutout to Bobby Moynihan). She’s also painfully underused within NBC’s tentpole sketch show, which makes the announcement of her new short film Darby Forever even sweeter. Living exclusively on Vimeo, Darby Forever follows the bedazzled fantasies of craft store shopgirl Darby (Bryant) and her surprisingly drab life working at Bobbins & Notions.
The film also features Retta (Parks and Recreation) as Darby’s boss, Luka Jones as the delivery guy/Darby’s crush, and Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black) as one of Darby’s frequent customers. Get inside Darby’s head below.
Darby Forever is the first short film (of five) being released as part of Vimeo’s Share the Screen program, which seeks to fund movies/projects made by women, and premieres on the site on February 18.
