2016. Run River North “29” video

In 2014, Run River North exploded onto the indie-rock scene with a well-received self-titled debut and an OK GO–style hit music video recorded entirely in Hondas. Now, the sextet has moved out of their moderately priced cars and into a sleek-looking soundstage for their brand-new music video, which we have the pleasure of premiering right now.

“29,” which the group explains “was written when Alex turned 29 in the middle of the night,” is the latest single off of the Southern California band’s sophomore album, Drinking From a Salt Pond. The track is grand—rapid-fire percussion, echoing call-and-response vocals, and sweeping synth lines blend together into one epic statement about trying to get over the vestiges of a bad break up.

With so much complexity swirling around within the song, “29”‘s music video is refreshingly simple. Watch the band perform the track in the monochromatic video now, and make sure to check out when Run River North is coming to your town below.
