Well, if you were planning on keeping your food down this morning, please don’t press play on the video below. But, if you thrive killing demons and crave a good amount of blood splattering in the a.m. then, by all means, keep reading about the brand-new Doom game.
It’s been twelve years since gamers could live vicariously through the strong, silent demon-fighting marine in an official Doom installment, but now id Software is back with Doom 3‘s follow-up and it looks ridiculous. The fourth chapter, which is simply called Doom, arrives this spring and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms. The new trailer for the pioneering first-person shooter game is horrifically violent—thanks in part to its insanely clear graphics—and very intense. So intense, in fact, it doesn’t really explain the plot of the game (kind of like the 2005 film version, zing!). Thankfully, id Software’s got us all covered:
As the iconic DOOM Marine, you wake to learn that the Union Aerospace Corporation’s facility on Mars has been decimated and overrun by hordes of demons. Humanity’s survival rests in your hands – and your hands alone. Fight Like Hell.
In DOOM’s campaign, there is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.
So much crushing and stomping… Head to hell and back with the marine in the clip below.
Doom will be available on May 13.
