What we know about 10 Cloverfield Lane: very little! As with the original Cloverfield (which producer J. J. Abrams called the film’s “blood relative”), the trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane was quietly slipped into theaters with no fanfare whatsoever—an increasingly impressive feat given the cinematic rumorverse.
That first trailer gave us a few clues as to the film’s plot: John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr. are all in a bunker together, where they seem to be having an okay time all things considered. That is, until Goodman begins to lose his cool (a move of which he is truly the Michael Jordan) and Winstead tries to escape before she sees something at the bunker door that stops her in her tracks.
The thirty-second teaser from last night, which you can see below, fills in some of the cracks. It seems that Winstead has been in some kind of car wreck and she’s rescued (ah, relatively speaking) by Goodman, who insists that he’s saving her from some kind of imminent doom. The question of whether that’s the case or not seems like it may be the base of this one-room sci-fi drama.
Lock the doors and check it out below.
10 Cloverfield Lane is out March 11.
