Titus Andronicus and Craig Finn are about to head out on the No Faith / No Future / No Problem tour together, and to mark the occasion, the pair of perpetual punk-rock acolytes have recorded one another’s songs. Finn tackles “No Future,” from Titus Andronicus’ 2008 debut The Airing of Grievances, while Titus’ Patrick Stickles tackles “No Future,” from Finn’s 2012 solo debut Clear Heart, Full Eyes.

Making matters even more confusing is how natural both singers sound working with the other writer’s words. With its references to Johnny Rotten and the devil and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Finn’s “No Future” would’ve been right at home on, say, The Monitor, while the dusting of twang Finn adds to the Titus track make it sound like a lost cut from last year’s Faith in the Future. Give both tracks a listen below.

Additionally, the Titus/Finn alliance has released high-quality videos of the band playing Billy Joel’s “You May Be Right,” The Hold Steady‘s “Stuck Between Stations,” and The Replacements‘ “Bastards of Young” live at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium last summer. You can watch all three videos—and check the No Faith / No Future / No Problem tour dates below.
