2016. “The Meddler” trailer.

Susan Sarandon is so good at playing the nosy mother in these first clips of The Meddler that it’s actually a little bit terrifying. In Lorene Scafaria‘s latest film (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist), Sarandon stars as Marnie Minervini—a recently widowed mother who makes her adult daughter Lori’s (Rose Byrne) life and lack of love her new obsession.

Marnie always has great intentions—bagels are always a great thing to bring to an uninvited/unscheduled pop-in—but occasionally her methods are frustrating and invasive. Though, something tells us that this crazy duo will work it out in the end…

Watch Sarandon barrel through life and turning the lives of everyone she meets upside down, including a new and charming romantic partner (J. K. Simmons) who loves his Harley.

The Meddler is in theaters on April 22.
