The big Apple event of 2014 finally happened in Cupertino yesterday after months of counting down for what was sure to be a major announcement. The tech giant revealed not just one, but three new products, and some major improvement features to go with them.
So what did they have in store for Apple fans? They have added two new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, each with bigger screens than previous generations. The iPhone 6 will measure at 4.7” while the 6 Plus will serve more as a mini tablet at 5.5”. They also designed it to work with Apple Pay, the mobile wallet they also launched at the event. It’s easy storage for your credit cards that you can access right from your phone and pay with a quick tap.

The biggest unveiling for Apple this week was the Apple Watch, and it actually looks kind of appealing. Along with keeping time, the sleek wristwatch personalizes to show you the things that are most important in your day-to-day life. It also allows for new ways to communicate with others (like the creative sketches and sharing of heartbeats), and serves as a great fitness companion…as long as you have an iPhone. For those that like to stay connected at all times, the Apple Watch seems to be an innovative way to go.
And if all this wasn’t enough, U2 also happened to drop a free album, Songs of Innocence, at the event. If you already have iTunes on your computer, or phone, the new LP is already in your library, waiting to be played. Generous gift from the group, or creepy marketing trick? Well, that’s up to you.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be available on September 19, but the Apple Watch won’t be sold until early 2015.
