Last night on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert somehow ended up in a cough syrup–driven stupor that led him to a forest. Like some kind of alternate version of Deliverance, Steve Martin just happened to be there, his banjo in tow (as is usually the case).
What else are two friends supposed to do with each other upon arriving at such a situation? Well, sing a happy song about being such good friends, of course. Except maybe one Steve isn’t really singing about the other Steve, and maybe this is actually a sad song. Tough luck, Stephen. At least you still have that signed picture in your office.
