And just like that, FLOODfest is over and so is SXSW 2016. We had to show the Texas festival off right and for our final day showcase, we packed Cedar Street Courtyard for one more showcase featuring great and eclectic artists. Mexican artists Vanessa Zamora and División Minúscula started the morning off and were followed by playful Sub Pop punk trio So Pitted. After the Washington group’s hard set, the sirens of Riothorse Royale brought their soothing and mellow harmonies to the afternoon audience. Experimental indie-rock quintet Sun Club delighted the FLOODfest crowd while marveling at the great weather discrepancy between Austin and their hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. SXSW darlings MUNA explosive set proved to be the perfect lead-in for our final headliners Poliça, who brought the house down with a career-spanning set including tracks from their latest album United Crushers. All that was left to do was pack up and sleep for a few weeks straight.
A special thanks to our sponsors DTS, Serato Pyro (which you can download here), Ernie Ball, Haufe, and Sailor Jerry; along with the amazing teams at Cedar Street Courtyard, Peché, and Isla; and everyone who came out to celebrate SXSW with us. It was an incredible week of music and we can’t wait to do it again. Until next time…
