Still on the tail end of Tied to a Star, J Mascis‘s second recent solo acoustic record, the folk-via-sludge guitar wizard is set to cast out a Mazzy Star cover from atop his mystical perch on high (or Northampton, MA). Longtime J champion Sub Pop will release “Fade Into You” on 7″ vinyl as a special Record Store Day offering. The B-side will consist of a previously unreleased Tied to a Star deep cut called “Outside.” For a taste, check out this fan video of J performing Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.”
