We have Southern California’s garage-psych modernists The Growlers to thank for coaxing the goths out of their coffin-lined bedrooms once a year for a day on the beach, and after the odd turn their festival took in 2017, Beach Goth 2018 was a return to corpse-painted form.
With lively sets from accomplished festival performers The Voidz and The Drums, as well as up-and-coming acts like Starcrawler and Hatchie alike, GWAR was hardly the only head-turner at this year’s turnout.
