With most of the country in a deep freeze or enduring cold rain, we could all use a nice little Saturday night warmup. Oddly enough, it’s the Arctic Monkeys providing the heat.

The band makes its first appearance on vaunted PBS live concert series Austin City Limits this Saturday night, January 18, at 6pm PT/9pm ET. Check local listings for details and additional showtimes.

In a FLOOD exclusive, watch the band perform “Do I Wanna Know?,” the massive single from the breakout 2013 full-length, AM, below.

The performance was captured on the ACL stage last October, when Arctic Monkeys were in town as one of the headliners for the 2018 Austin City Limits Music Festival. The episode will also feature a performance by Austin–natives Wild Child.

The band brought along their own creative/video director, Ben Chappell, whose team filmed the proceedings with a pair of Ikegami ITC-730A Colour Tube Cameras to create a uniquely vintage look. The vintage cameras were brought in “for a look that harks back to the early days of music television,” according to a press statement.

Alex Turner led the group through a six-song set, including a smoldering take on “The Ultracheese.” It’s a track on their latest album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, which is currently up for a pair of Grammys. Turner and bandmate Matt Helders also sit for an interview during the broadcast.

Turner channels Bowie, Ferry, and even a little taste of Elvis in the slow-burning performance.  For an even deeper dive, they’ve provided a “Behind the Scenes” video, too. Watch them both below to tide you over until the big show.
