Flying Lotus News: A New Track And Tumblr IRL Event

The audiovisual artist lures the listener with dreamy "Coronus, The Terminator" off You're Dead!, and builds upon his music with an upcoming sensory showcase.

Steven Ellison, a.k.a. Flying Lotus, is preparing to release his latest album, You’re Dead!, which is already promising to be an ethereal earworm if “Coronus, The Terminator” is any indication of what we can expect. The new single is an engulfing piece of music that steadily moves the listener with every heart-pumping beat. The vocals soar beautifully, piercing through the air effortlessly and leading to the intricate textures that Flying Lotus has to offer. Falling just short of three minutes, the song still manages to linger long after it’s done.

With this album, Ellison isn’t stopping at music. He’s bringing his multi-genre productions to a new level by hosting a Tumblr IRL in Los Angeles. Here, fans will be able to see original visuals created by FlyLo collaborators Shintaro Kago, Strangeloop, and Timeboy that evoke the sounds of the album. The event is meant to be a four-hour experience, completely immersing you in the music, textures, lights, colors, and everything which You’re Dead! conveys.

The Tumblr IRL will take place on Tuesday, September 23 at 7pm at Mack Sennett Studios. You can RSVP here.

You’re Dead! will be available starting on October 7 via Warp records.
