Tired of bracing yourself for yet another male-dominated festival lineup? Rest easy—Yola Fest has got what you need.
The day-long June 8 celebration of the arts, culture, and music by the “women of today” is the brainchild of Lykke Li, who tops the all-woman lineup. Charli XCX, Cat Power, CupcakKe, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ambar Lucid are also scheduled to perform, with a special acoustic show from Courtney Love.
The announcement of Love’s set at the festival comes a little more than a week before the 25th anniversary of the release of her band Hole’s seminal album, Live Through This, originally released on April 12, 1994.
More acts, food vendors and onsite activities will be announced in the coming weeks. One particular early detail stands out: the fest is for the 21-and-over set.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to The Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles, exclusively serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women.
Tickets go on sale starting Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. PST. Find more information here.
