Life comes at you fast, even when you’re a pop star on the rise like Lizzo.

Fresh from the release of her fantastic new album, Cuz I Love You, last Friday and a triumphant turn at this year’s Coachella, the twerk queen has generated a whirlwind of controversy this morning with a single tweet:

The digital outburst seems to be in response to a particular review of her debut LP, but the general tone of the tweet has elicited an avalanche of responses, most of them negative. It’s been enough that Lizzo felt the need to respond not with an apology, but an invitation:

In the meantime, the young pop queen has announced a full-blown tour to support the album, with a healthy string of dates that kick off July 18 in Troutdale, OR. For those of us in Los Angeles, she’s set to rock the Hollywood Palladium on October 18. With her next scheduled show not until Oct. 23 in Phoenix, don’t be surprised if she adds a couple more Palladium dates in the the interim. See the full tour itinerary below.
