We’re coming up on summer blockbuster season, and Castle Face is prepping for the event with the reveal of the latest entry to the extended Dweyerverse: the fourth LP from San Francisco synth-punk group POW!, Shift. After sharing the guitar-driven single “Disobey” back in February, the latest track plays up the cutting synths the band has become known for. “Dream Decay” is a spacey, glossy—if not totally demented—take on new wave, properly introducing itself with an unsettling video that bridges the gap between pre-Code horror and Kenneth Anger. Although it’s no Zeigenbock Kopf, “Decay” sets up camp at the experimental dance end of the Castle Face spectrum.
Shift is available May 10 on Castle Face. You can pre-order the record here, or directly from Castle Face here.
