Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait. Lizzo and Charli XCX have come together on new track “Blame It On Your Love,” a tune that Charli teased as the one primed to “save pop music” in the lead up to its release.
The results are a stellar example of Pop Music 2019: lots of big vocal melodies, booming trap aesthetics, an undercurrent of reggaeton, and at least one EDM-styled “drop.” If it’s the kind of hit that it deserves to be, expect Diplo to dress in drag and jump on a remix any day now.
