This is turning into the year of inspired hip-hop collaborations, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Hot on the heels of Freddie Gibbs & Madlib dropping the cover art for their forthcoming Bandana album, LA rapper Murs and North Carolina producer 9th Wonder have revealed a new collaboration of their own. The Iliad Is Dead and the Odyssey Is Over is the title of the joint album set for release on July 19.
“9th and I have been working together since ’03 and we’re like brothers at this point,” Murs said in a press release. “I wanted to give it my all, so my wife was kind enough to hold down the fort for a few weeks while I immersed myself in the recording process. Eighteen hours a day listening to beats and trying to craft the best material possible.”
