In the best news since the advent of Mr. T Cereal, the long-rumored third Pee-wee Herman movie is finally starting to look like a reality. Paul Reubens has been working to get the project off the ground for a few years now, but hiccups in development recently lead to Universal dropping out, leaving the Judd Apatow production in question.
Thankfully, however, Netflix is all but confirmed to step in and take over distribution of the film, which Reubens has said will begin shooting as early as February. Details are still a bit vague, but it’s known that Upright Citizens Brigade veteran Paul Rust has co-written the script with Reubens, and an ominously unannounced director is in place (maybe it’s Francis?).
Paging Mr. Herman: Make this happen.
