Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ frontwoman, Karen O, has collected some personal songs from 2006 and 2007, for what she calls her “ever continuing love crusade.” Now, she’s turning those private recordings (along with personal drawings and handwritten lyrics) into her debut solo album, Crush Songs, which will be released on Julian Casablancas’s label, Cult Records, on September 9.

In the same vein as her Oscar-nominated track “The Moon Song,” these numbers are meant to be lo-fi and intimate, perfect for keeping a listener company during dark times. Eager fans can pre-order a limited edition deluxe vinyl on the Cult web store now. Standard vinyl, CD and digital editions will be available September 9.
