Two of the most painful losses in the music community this year also happen to be two of the artists slated to headline Pine Plains, New York’s Huichica Music festival. Yesterday’s news of the passing of Purple Mountains’ David Berman comes just two months after the death of Roky Erickson, both artists having originally been tapped to lead the August 10 fest. Additionally, Destroyer’s Dan Bejar has announced he’ll be stepping down from the lineup to mourn the loss of his friend Berman.

Fortunately, the show will go on with Helado Negro in the headlining slot, with the whole event relocating from Chaseholm Farms in Pine Plains to BSP Kingston. The reconfigured fest will henceforth be known as the Huichica Hudson Special Concert, with the two day affair condensed to a single day-long event. Additional performers Ryley Walker, Howlin’ Rain, Mail the Horse, Garcia Peoples, Shana Falana, and Bill Mackay are still set to play. This is how you save a festival, Woodstock.

Doors open at 4 p.m., and you can grab tickets here.
